Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has set an ambitious target of achieving a 15% growth rate for the state under the Vision-2047 goal, aiming to foster wealth creation and economic advancement through focused policies and strategic planning.
Naidu emphasised that sustained growth would improve the quality of life for Andhra Pradesh’s underprivileged populations by generating and distributing wealth effectively.
“Creating wealth is possible only by providing various kinds of opportunities following which the living conditions of the poor can be increased by distributing this wealth to them,” the Chief Minister said, while speaking at a Task Force meeting on Monday.
During the session, Naidu reflected on past achievements under his leadership, noting the state’s 13.5% growth during the previous tenure of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Confident in the state’s potential, he believes a 15% growth rate can be attained with the right initiatives. To this end, he expressed commitment to formulating and implementing actionable policies, stressing the government’s readiness to make bold decisions to drive economic progress.
The meeting brought together key figures, including state ministers, members of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), top government officials, and leading industry executives. Tata Group Executive Chairman N Chandrasekaran served as the co-chair of the task force, collaborating with Naidu to outline plans for the Vision-2047 goal. Attendees discussed Andhra Pradesh’s strategic direction and ways to leverage advanced technology and industry-focused policies.
Naidu highlighted the importance of technology in shaping the state’s future, particularly in enhancing opportunities for youth. “Now the technology is more advanced and there is every need that we should properly utilise this technology. If opportunities are provided to the youth we will get excellent results,” he stated.
Transitioning from “Ease of Doing Business” to a new focus on “Speed of Doing Business,” Naidu outlined plans to accelerate economic processes and entrepreneurial growth.
“We once talked about ‘Ease of Doing Business’ but now we are focusing on ‘Speed of Doing Business’. We then worked hard that every household should have one IT employee but now we are moving ahead with the goal that every family should have one entrepreneur,” Naidu said.
He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to adopting progressive policies to stimulate industrial growth. Naidu concluded by welcoming feedback from industry experts and stakeholders to enhance the state’s development strategies, reiterating his confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s growth potential as a model for economic innovation in India.
